 Assam DEE Announces Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025

 

The Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), Assam, has announced a significant recruitment drive for 2025. They are inviting applications for 4,500 Assistant Teacher positions. These positions are divided into 2,900 posts for Lower Primary (LP) schools and 1,600 posts for Upper Primary (UP) schools.

 

Position Details

  • Lower Primary (LP) Assistant Teacher: 2,900 posts
  • Upper Primary (UP) Assistant Teacher: 1,600 posts

Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive a salary in Pay Band 2 (PB-2), ranging from ₹14,000 to ₹70,000. This includes Grade Pay and other allowances as per "The Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019".

 District-wise Vacancies

The DEE will soon provide a detailed breakdown of vacancies. This will include information by district, medium, and category. Reservations for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), PwD, Women, Ex-Servicemen, and other categories will be specified.

 Eligibility Criteria
  1. Nationality: Candidates must be permanent residents of Assam.

  2. Age Limit: Applicants should be between 18 and 40 years old as of January 1, 2025. Age relaxations are as follows:

    • Ex-Servicemen: 2 years
    • OBC/MOBC: 3 years
    • SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years
    • Persons with Disability: 10 years
  3. Educational Qualifications:

    • For LP Assistant Teacher:

      • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
      • Or, Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
      • Or, Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
      • Candidates must have passed the Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (ATET) conducted by the Elementary Education Department, Assam.
    • For UP Assistant Teacher:

      • Graduate from a UGC-recognized university and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or B.Ed. or D.Ed. (Special Education) or B.Ed. (Special Education).
      • Candidates must have passed the Assam TET for UPS conducted by the Elementary Education Department, Assam.

Interested candidates can apply online through the official DEE Assam Recruitment Portal. The application process involves:

  1. Registration:

    • Visit the official DEE Assam website.
    • Click on the "Online Application Form" link.
    • Complete the registration by clicking "Register Now".
  2. Filling the Application:

    • Provide personal and educational details.
    • Upload necessary documents.
  3. Submission:

    • After submitting, candidates will receive a Unique Number.
    • Keep a printout of this Unique Number for future reference.

Important Points

  • Candidates should be careful while submitting the online application. Once submitted against a particular Roll Number of ATET/CTET examination, they cannot submit another application for the same Roll Number.
  • Ensure all details are accurate to avoid disqualification.
  • Keep a copy of the submitted application and the Unique Number for future reference.

Selection Process

The selection process will include:

  1. Written Examination: Assessing subject knowledge and teaching aptitude.
  2. Computer Proficiency Test: Evaluating basic computer skills.
